Here I am using Disney movies to solve my life problems

I’ve been having a pretty rough week, things pile up and then it all kinda exploded in my face, sound familiar to anyone?

When dealing with stress, it’s hard to see the good in anything. It’s hard to see that this is just a small part of your life that will change soon enough and you hope that if you sit around miserable for long enough people will start to notice and magically change it for you. Unfortunately, that will never work. I’ve written about this before, but you have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with anything. Being happy is a proactive activity that requires way more work than people think. It would be nice if happiness consisted of an on/off switch, but it doesn’t. You have to work for it.

I have found in my struggles of my young 20 year old life that the best advice I have ever been given is “You’ll be ok.” Yah, it’s cliche and annoying to hear over and over again but if you sit around thinking you will be miserable forever, you will be. We blame unhappiness on the environment that surrounds us too many times to count. It’s important to remember that everything in life is a choice, and nothing is ever set in stone. If you chose a certain path, it’s never too late to modify or change it. Realize what is exactly making you feel the way you are and make some adjustments. They don’t always need to be drastic changes, but tweaking can do wonders.

Sometimes you just gotta take Woody’s advice. As simple and insignificant it may be, it’s often the hardest thing to remember. It’s often the most annoying advice we hear from people. “You’ll be fine,” “Things will be better soon,” etc. Sometimes you just want to scream in their face, “NO IT WON’T BE.” But yes, yes it will be. You might not be fine tomorrow or the day after or the day after that, but there have been way too many times where I have thought a rainy cloud was just going to follow me around everywhere because life sucks and I suck and everything sucks. But no, life will suck as long as you let it suck. Life doesn’t owe you anything and you are one person of 6 billion, so basically you are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Life will suck until you grab it by the hands and create it how you want it to look. Want a life of suckyness? Go for it. Live a happy life and the rest will fall into place.

Shoutout to Pixar for making the best trilogy out there. You guys rock.

“You’ll be fine partner.”
